Park College, Chicago. He graduated with the degree of Bachelor of Divinity the following spring and returned to St. John and accepted a call to the Leinster St. Church. In 1892 he was called to be superinten- dent and general secretary of Western missions, in which office he served for six years with notable success in the strengthening and expansion of the work. He then settled as pastor of the church in Emerson. Here was repeated on a large scale revival blessings he enjoyed in former pas- torates. In 1903 he was called to the pastorate of the First Church, Re- gina, then the capital of the North West Territories. In 1905 the Ter- ritories were formed into the provinces of Alberta and Saskatchewan with Regina as the capital of the latter. Great expansion of the city and the church succeeded. After four years there, he was called by the IVIis- sion Board to take charge of the Indian department of the Mission as missionary and supervisor. While there he wrote a book on “The In- dians and our Indian Missions”. In all these extensive and varied mis- sion. and church enterprises Mrs. Mellick was his competent helper. In 1909 they were called to Lawrencetown7 N. S., where continued bless- ings rested upon their work. In 1916 they settled at O’Leary where for three and a half years a most gracious work of grace was experienced as in his former pastorate there. From there they went to North River for two years after which they took fields for summer months only. They settled in Hantsport, N. S.. where Mr. Mellick had two terms as supply rastor. One summer was given to work at Port Greville and one to Tiv- erton. N. S., and the last one to Murray River field where Mr. Mellick began his ministry. Since then he has supplied churches occasionally, and lectured and written extensively. Their entire time in later years has been given to the work of the Hantsport Church where Mrs. Mellick teaches a large adult Sunday School class and does other work for the church and community. In 1923 Acadia University made fitting recog- nition of Mr. Mellick’s work for the Kingdom of God by conferring upon him the degree of Doctor of Divinity.
