FOREWORD At the time of the celebration of the One-Hundredth Anniversary (1933) of the East Point United Baptist Church, a history was written of the first century of the Church's life by Rev. John A . Ford and Rev. II. G. Mellick . It was printed in book form. Since that time history continues to be made, and many felt it should be written up so that the history of the Church could be kept up-to-date. Mrs. E. S. Rose has been largely responsible for gathering the material together which shall make up this portion of the history. She has had a Committee working with her since 1958, but she, herself, has typed and gathered most of the material from every available source. To Mrs. Rose and the Historical Committee the Church owes a great debt of gratitude for the splendid work they have done and for persisting in their efforts until this work has been completed.
