Mr. Bell resigned the Church in Kingsboro in 1937 to accept a call to the Chegoggin Baptist Church in Yarmouth County, N.S. From there he went to Dawson in Albert County, New Brunswick, before returning to his third and last pastorate in Kingsboro.

THE PASTORATE OF REV. M. W. WATTERWORTH 1937—1941

Succeeding Rev. H. R. Bell in 1937 was a Christian (Disciples of Christ) Minister, the Rev. M. W. Watterworth, who came to the Field from the Montague Christian Church.

In his second year eighteen young people were baptized, all of them coming from the Sunday School. So the Sunday School con- tinued to be the constant feeder of fresh blood into the life of the Church. The membership grew to three hundred and nineteen. In 1941, during this pastorate, the P.E.I. Association was entertained at Kingsboro.

Mr. Watterworth enjoyed gardening and farming, and he did con- siderable of each during his stay here. All succeeding ministers have enjoyed the raspberries from the canes which he planted. He set out many trees around the parsonage, and they have provided delightful shade during the hot summer days, as well as enhancing the beauty of the Church property. Not only did Mr. Watterworth plant seeds, shrubs and trees, but he also planted the seed of the Word in the hearts of the people. Many who were taken into the membership of the Church at this time are the senior leaders of the Church today.

Mr. Watterworth retired to his farm in Montague in 1941. It is said that he remained there for awhile, then sold his farm, and moved to
