Alberta Bible College (Church of Christ Disciplesl and served the Field for four years. Malcolm was very young when he came to Kingsboro. and after four years of service. decided to return to University to further his education.

During this pastorate. the B.(‘.Y.F. (Baptist Christian Youth Fellowship) was very active with an enrollment of 35 to 45 young people. Besides worship and study. the young people played volley ball. basketball. and engaged in other sports. A number of variety concerts were put on and considerable sums of money were raised. The Brownies and Guides also put on many variety concerts to raise money for their activities.

Rev. & Mrs. Malcolm Smith

Mr. Smith began what is known as the “Christian Baptist.” a News- letter. which he published once a week. This was a big undertaking. He was ably assisted by his wife. who was an accomplished typist. This Newsletter continued throughout Mr. Smith's pastorate. It was continued in the next pastorate, but was published once a mi nth. l’olk connected with the Church in far-away-places were espetially glad to get the news from the home Church. and they suppm‘tvd it financially. It proved a great blessing to the “Shut-ins" in the immediate area.

In this pastorate. a great undertaking was accomplished and that was the putting in of a Basement llall under the Church. 'l‘hruugh volunteer labor and much effort it was finally finished. and by 1967 it was all paid off. z\ new baptistry to replace the old one. which was no longer serviceable. was undertaken. [t was built in the sprii g of 1966 and was dedicated on .\lay ‘22. very fittingly. with a baptis'n of twenty-two people.

Mr. Smith was active in Community al'l'airs. being secretary o the Board of Trade for Eastern Kings for a time. He also served ll the Kings County Clergy Organization. which included Roman Cazhi lics.

Many were the regrets when he announced his resignation to take up further studies. The Smiths had two children. a boy and a girl.
