thirty or more. Programs were divided into Commissions of “Faith,” “Fellowship” and “Witness." All members were put on one or other of the Commissions. and were encouraged to serve.

For fund-raising the group sponsored turkey suppers, electric light bulb sales, variety concerts, etc. Funds were used to purchase or share in the purchase of such things as a Gestetner, a piano, tables, song books. This group contributed yearly to the B.Y.F. Convention and the Christian Youth Fellowship. It catered to banquets, and sponsored hymn sings. It entertained the Island Christian Youth Fellowship on a number of occasions, provided a choir many times, entertained U.B.B.T.S. Choir, a Volley Ball Team from the l\I.C.C. in Charlottetown, and a Baseball Team from the Summerside Christian Church. It became the custom of this group to give each “bride elect” from the group a party and a gift. Every Easter a Sunrise service was held which consisted of worship and breakfast at the Church. The East Point B.C.Y.F. Basketball Team was organized in 1966 and was successful in entering the King’s County Men’s Basketball League.

Provincial Presidents chosen from this group were: Peter Ching, Sandra MacGregor and Ethan Garrett.

Another feature which became an annual event in the B.C.Y.F. was the continuation of the Christmas Carol Sing begun by Mr. McClare and choir. The young people visited the aged and shut-ins each year prior to Christmas and sang Christmas Carols. The Senior Citizens came to look forward to this pleasant event. As Mrs. Rose expressed it, “It is a happy occasion when a farmer’s big truck drives up to your door, and preceded by their leader, Kenneth MacGregor, thirty smiling young people fill the living room and sing the dearly- loved carols, which never grow old. The time is all too short and soon they are away with greetings of ‘I\1erry Christmas’ and ‘l-Iappy New Year.” The Group visited the Senior Citizens Home in Souris, and the Manor in Montague, and conducted a service in Dundas Baptist Church.
