26 there was a real gap between the Young People 's Society and the W.M.S. On May 15, 1959. Mrs. Mollins united all interested to come to the parsonage where she would be happy to discuss a World Wide Guild. Miss Evangeline Rafuse , Field Worker of the W.M.S ., for N.S ., and P.E.I. , was invited to address the group, and explain the purpose of a W.W.G. Due to the fact it was a busy season on the farm, and most of the young women had young families to care for, only four attended the meeting. There were present several members of the W.M.S. Despite the small attendance it was decided to organize a World Wide Guild, and the following officers were appointed: President - Mrs. Alvin Rose Vice-President - Mrs. Horace MacDonald Secretary - Mrs. Gordon Robertson Treasurer - Mrs. Walden Rose Interest seemed to lag for the summer months, but in the fall Mrs. Mollins invited the young women to the parsonage again. This time there was a larger attendance, and the full organization of the World Wide Guild resulted. The slate of officers elected in May was willing to act, and Mrs. Russell C 'hing was appointed Counsellor to the group. The group adopted the name of "The Mildred Law Chapter of World Wide Guild of the East Point Baptist Church. ' as Miss Eaw had taught several of the young ladies in D.V.B.S .. an! is now one of our missionaries in India. The first meeting, after organization, was held at the hom< of Mrs. Robert Rose of North Lake , and regular meetings have con¬ tinued ever since, sometimes in the home of the members, and some¬ times in the Church Mall. The meetings are held on the fourth Tuesday of each month. The Guild has grown spiritually anc in membership. When asked to assist in any way. it is noted for being ready to help with a happy smile, and a "We-would-love-to-do-it attitude." During the years the W.W.G . has sent a generous amoun; of money to further missionary work, as well as food parcels and cbth- ing, gifts to port workers and hospital supplies. This group has catered to weddings, served meals to Association delegates md Ministerial Groups in the Church Hall, helped financially in hiring tables, cutlery and dishes for the Church Kitchen. It has also s|on- sored Baby Band Parties, packed baskets of fruit for Thanksgiving for the elderly and shut-ins. and always sends cards to the sick md bereaved. It has regularly had a "cleaning day" for the Church lall
