I977 - The Singers sang eight numbers at the Canadian Bible Society Song- A-Rama in Summerside; they travelled to Riverview. N.B. to the Riverview Baptist Church where they sang at a coffee shop on Saturday evening and participated in the Sunday morning worship service; a weekend was spent in NS. They sang at a Saturday evening service at Windsor Baptist Church and Sunday morning conducted the worship service at Rawdon Baptist Church. This weekend they wore their new grey and green uniforms.

1978 - A camping weekend at Forest Hills Park. Cavendish, which included an outdoor service of song and testimony conducted by the young people. and the Sunday morning worship service at Cavendish Baptist Church led by the group; a special cantata of song. readings and testimonies was presented at Hillcrest United by the Shalom Singers in conjunction with the Daylight Singers 0f Dundas—Annandale; two retreats were held at Camp Abegweit. one in the spring and one in the fall.

1979 - An Easter Cantata under the direction of Rev. Steve Dobbins was pre- sented at the East Point United Baptist Church; another weekend at Cavendish where they conducted the morning worship service.

An annual event which started in 1974 was the presentation ofa Christmas Pageant on Christmas night at the East Point Baptist Church. as well as at the Souris United Church on two occasions. The group also formed the choir at the East Point Church the last Sunday evening of each month. They held services at the Colville Manor at regular intervals. and led the watch night service in 1978.

Because of declining membership as most of the original members either married or moved away and lack of interest on behalf of the younger group coming on. the Shalom Singers ceased to function as a group in the fall of 1979. The portable electric piano and the amplifier were to be kept in the church for use by other groups; the bus was eventually sold to the New Christian Singers and financial assets of the group were used in helping support the refugee family of the church and a donation was given towards the purchase of a new piano for the church.

The witness of a group of young people calling themselves the Shalom Singers has terminated. However. the experiences. fond memories. times of sharing their faith. glad times. sad times. and the bond of Christian brothers and sis- ters would not be soon forgotten.

Certainly the young people in the Shalom Singers were greatly indebted to God and to the many people. whom God. by His mercy and grace. allowed them to enjoy Christian fellowship and service with Him. Among outstanding people would be Rev. Arthur Willis, who had a vision and zeal for young people along with his wife. Peggy. who supported him; to Sandra Ching as she assumed
