These "Family Night“ services were held regularly with several families and groups taking an active part.

Mrs. Willett organized and led Junior Church for children aged 6 to 11 years. This service was held during the Sunday morning service at Kingsboro.

On December 31. 1977 Pastor Willett planned and presented a Watchnight Service in the church. This consisted of a film “Happiness Is.” a pot-luck supper. carols. meditation. and prayer. Cindy McClure sang two selections. The service closed at midnight by all present forming a circle enclosing the Pulpit and singing. “Blest Be the Tie That Binds.”

During the period of his leadership. we had several visiting singing groups, including Johnnie Bears, Judson.Sisters, Daylight Singers, MacDonald- Munroe Quartet. Bedeque-Summerside Quartet. Inheritance Group, and the Raymond Sellick Group.

He was a strong believer in prayer. held a weekly prayer meeting and at one time. stated. “Without prayer no matter how active we become, how good our choirs are or how many groups we have all will fail to win the lost to Christ and to build up the Christian in his faith."

Church Advisory Council

The Church Advisory Council concept was introduced by Rev. Willett. The Council was comprised of Pastor. Deacons. Moderator. Clerk. Treasurer. Trustees. Financial Committee. Church Organist. Sunday School Superin- tendant. and a representative from the Sunday School. Shalom Singers. .lunior Youth. Cubs. Senior Choir. U.B.W.M.S. and W.W.(i.

The .»\d\‘isory. Council met regularly to conduct any business of the church that should arise between annual meetings. It would also be the responsibility of this Council to see that any matter passed at the annual meeting was car- ried out. to coordinate the work of the different groups. to set goals for the church and present policy changes to the annual meeting.

The group met in open session for 15 to 30 minutes to bring up business matters which “ere then assigned to the several committees for consideration.

The Council was divided into the following groups: (1) Deacons, (2) Fi— nance. (3) Trustees. (4) Missions. and (5) Christian Education. These groups met for about 45 minutes then came together to present resolutions to the entire group. In this way more people knew what was going on in the church and took part in decision making. The meetings closed with prayer.
