Student Assistance
In August 1975 a letter from Rev. Alvin Robertson was read regarding a $5000 Memorial Fund to the memory of his brother. Deacon John W. Robertson. This money was to be put in a trust fund with the interest only to be used. It was suggested that one of the first calls upon this fund should be to help our young people to prepare themselves for Christian service.
Later in 1982 the Deacons evaluated our use of this fund and it will still be used primarily for Christian education purposes. particularly for young people interested in attending Acadia Divinity College or Atlantic Baptist College. although not exclusively. The amount of $500 is now available per year to a student who applies for it. If more that one student applies. the sum 01‘8900 per year is to be divided evenly.
Application for money from this fund is to be made in writing to the Deacons by July [st of each year.
Also the sum of $100 is made available for one or more youth who wish to attend youth conventions.
