The presiding pastor was Rev. Robert K. Leland. Executive Minister of the Christian Church in Canada.

The message for the evening was brought by Rev. Neil Bergman. Minister of the North Street Christian Church. Halifax. and Wyndholme Christian Church. Dartmouth.

Greetings were brought from the South Lake Church by Robert Rose; from the church at Kingsboro by Chairman of Deacons. Russell Garrett: from the P.E.l. Baptist Association by Moderator George Campbell: and from the United Church. Souris. by Rev. Jack Spencer.

Charge to the pastor was given by Rev. Robert K. Leland and responded to by Rev. Steve Dobbins; charge to the congregation was given by Rev. Brent Robertson. Minister of the Bedeque Baptist Church and was responded to by the congregation.

In Rev. Brent Robertson's message he charged the congregation to “Speak to God about people and speak to people about God.“

Suitable congregational selections were sung with the Senior Choir leading the music. Bobby MacGregor. student at U.P.E.l. and ministering at Dundas and Annandale Baptist Churches. and Ian Coffin. Souris. a member of the Shalom Singers. each sang a solo.

The service closed with Induction Prayer by Rev. Leland and the Benediction by Rev. Dobbins. Lunch was served and a season of fellowship \\ as enjoyed.

Prayer and Special Services During his years as pastor in our churches, Rev. Dobbins asks for special prayer requests during services. has prayer meeting following the Sunday evening services. has prayer with the Deacons for 15 minutes before the worship services on Sunday. and frequently sings and teaches choruses taken from Bible passages.

For one Maunday Thursday Service he set up tables in the form of a cross. and had communion. On another Maunday Thursday service. chairs were placed in the shape of a body. each person was assigned a body part. and communion “as shared as a body. On a third one. the choir provided special music and special communion was shared. Easter Sunrise Service. with the Youth Group. takes place each year at East Point and Cantata‘s have been presented in the church at Easter and at Christmas by the choir and organist with the pastor‘s assistance.

The monthly newsletters are continued. Rev. Dobbins also continues work with the youth. Their activities include a Drama Group. a Puppet Group and 19
