Five new deacons have been inducted into the church during the past years.

Deacons R. Stuart MacGregor and Russell Garrett resigned during the year 1981. These mild-spoken men were held in high esteem in the church and in the community and their wise counselling and advice will be greatly missed. They were appointed Honorary Deacons.

The Deacons meet regularly with the pastor for special meetings and also for prayer.

In the fall of 1978 their efforts were concentrated on organizing regu- lar Church services after the departure of Rev. Willett from this field in August. Much credit is due this group of men for their untiring efforts and for their success in keeping the services running smoothly itt this time.

During the winter of 1978. Rev. Ernest Sperring held a Deacons Seminar at the Sea Breeze Motel. The deacons from both Churches attended.

Members of the deacons of the Baptist Church conducted a short devotional service at the men‘s meeting of the Spring Association held in our Church. They have also taken the full church service at different intervals during the years and they" together with the pastor, Rev. Dobbins drew up a new Constitution. It was presented at the 1982 Annual Church Meeting.

Other active deacons who were appointed at an earlier date are Kenneth MacGregor and Leith Robertson. 196I. Roddie Kidson has been an Honorary Deacon for a number of years.
