At their meetings each week they had an opening prayer, offering, offertory prayer and closing prayer. Their activities included games, a sword drill, dis¬ cussion on T.V . shows and movies, Bible Qui/, a program on the birth and life of Jesus Christ, crafts, softball, tobogganing, and Christmas parties. They gathered in the church basement for their Christmas parties where they played games, had hotdogs, and an exchange of gifts. In 1978 they met at Mrs. Horace MacDonald 's for pizza. On February 5, 1978 the Light Fellowship Group with their leaders pro¬ vided special music for the morning church service. They also sang at the third church "Family Night" and occupied the choir loft at Kingsboro on Sunday- evening, April 1, 1979. On June 24. 1978 they camped at Ross (Johnnie) Young's cottage and the next day they drove to Fairyland in Winston Young 's truck. In the study of "Jesus and His Life," the young people separated into four groups. These groups discussed the lesson and brought back, either by a skit or something similar, the part they thought was most important. They also had Bible Hockey which taught the members a great deal about the Bible. Some years, for their closing, a supper was served by the mothers and in May 1978 they had a banquet to which the parents were invited. After the meal they had a talent presentation in which everyone participated and ended it with a skit "The Kind Man Cares for the Hurt Man." Later in 1979 Johnnie and Myrtle Hennessey had the young people meet in their home where they studied the Book of Matthew, played games and had Youth Choir Practice. They also went to the school once a month for sports. Some time later Myrtle was assisted by Brenda MacGregor and Gaelyne Dixon when the group divided into teams for study. Explorers 1972 Farly in 1972 the W.M.S . explored the possibility of having an Explorer Group formed and shortly afterward appointed Mrs. Colin Dixon and Mrs. Leith Robertson as leaders. The first meeting was held on June 15, 1972 with an enrollment of eight girls aged 9 to 11 years. Of 32 girls who had been enrolled from 1972-1979 only four had not continued to graduation.
