Only Lu could speak any English but all the family were involved in lan- guage study. They attended church and Sunday School regularly.

Lu found employment at the North Lake fish processing plant and later with local potato farmers. Dung. a beautiful seamstress. put her talent to use in her home by sewing for people in the surrounding areas.

In February 1981. a son. Anthony, was born in the Souris Hospital.

A gift of money was given by the Daily Vacation Bible School children. This amount was increased by donations from other sources and a washer and spin dryer were presented to the family. A special Christmas offering was taken in both churches and deposited in the Refugee account to be used as needed.

Due to few work opportunities in the locality, the family decided to move to Charlottetown in July 1981. In October a further move was made to Calgary, Alberta. where Lu and Dung are employed in a hospital. They were visited during the summer of 1982 by Rev. and Mrs. Steve Dobbins.
