A Community Note Much has already been printed concerning the hardships and struggles of our forefathers and now at the end of 150 years of history making we see great advances and improvements. One step forward during this 10 year period 1973-1983 was the change over to the Dial Telephone Service and connection to the Direct Distance Dialing Network in 1977. The health of the people has been taken care of by doctors practicing in Souris and also by the Souris Hospital to a large extent. At the beginning of this period in our history, Dr. Edward Kassner , who began practice in Souris on November 26, 1948 was still serving the area until his retirement from office on August 27, 1977. At the present time we have three doctors located in the new Medical Centre which was built in 1980. They are Dr. Steve O'Brien, Dr. Don Vickerson , and Dr. Don Cheverie . 7 3 3 H ^7 46
