The guest minister was no stranger in Prince Edward Island congregations. He was a son of the late Rev. F .E. Boothroyd who served congregations in Summerside, York and Hunter River. His mother, who resides in Sackville, was a prominent member of the W.M.S. for many years. Rev. Donald Boothroyd gave leadership to several Maritime congregations since his ordination in 1940. He was married to the former Ruth Christie, who was also well—known in this province. The topic of Mr. Boothroyd’s sermon was “The Light Of The World.” “In a spiritual sense the source of light is Jesus,” he said, “and it is only as people see and reflect that light that they can become as lights in the world.” 40
