0055 C011. Dedication Sunday, Miminegash Church Hall, June 9, 1983 In addition to music by our organist, Mrs. Blanche Crockett, special Klusmeier music was also provided by a Choral Sextet consisting of George Carruthers, Nancy and Sharon Crane, Miriam, John, and Ruth Russell. Ushers for the service were Ross MacKay and Wade Mclnnis. Collections for church expenses amounted to over $300.00. Gifts to the Miminegash United Church in memory of John Burton Rix were acknowledged in the form of permanent floral bouquets for the altar from family members, and a choir light, a gift from Margaret (Maclnnis) Davenport, Esther (Maclnnis) Owler, and Helen (Maclnnis) Nelson. It was recalled by the Rev. Stewart B. Russell that Burt Rix enjoyed attending Worship Services, and that the new light would symbolize the pleasure which Burt Rix experienced in his love for 'he church. At the ribbon cutting ceremony, John McInnis, who was in charge of the con- struction, provided the scissors for Robert E. Maclnnis, church Elder and Chairman of the Building Committee, to cut the ribbon. Symbolically, the Sunday School children then entered the New Church Hall to signify the opening of the building as part of its use as a Sunday School. The Rev. Robert A. Crooks read the Prayer of Dedication and the Rev. Stewart B. Russell declared the hall officially dedicated and open for use. 64
