In 1905, he became a member of the Montreal Conference, and his assignments in Quebec were as follows:

Following his retirement in 1917, he moved to Prescott, Ontario where he was much in demand as a popular supply minister.

Rev. Fisher was a diligent student, a faithful pastor, and his sermons were helpful messages of Gospel truth, delivered with evangelical fervor. While residing in Prescott, Mr. Fisher became actively identified with church and com- munity life, and for many years was chairman of the Board of Education, and president of the Literary Society. He was a Past Master of Lodge No. 23, Monction, N.B., A.F. and A.M. He was twice married, his second wife predeceased him about five years ago. One of his two sons was married to Retta (Leard) Stearns of Alberton, P.E.I.

In the passing of Rev. Fisher on October 17, 1933, the church lost one of its active, efficient, and honored servants.

The funeral service and interment were in Montreal. Mr. Fisher was survived by two sons, C. Fairall Fisher, of Montreal, and Alfred B. Fisher, of Charlot- tetown, P.E.I.

REV. WILLIAM LAWSON 1890 - 1893

There passed away at Toronto at the home of the Rev. Walter and Mrs. Small, returned missionaries from China, on Wednesday the twelfth of January, 1938 the father of Mrs. Small, the Rev. William Lawson. The veteran preacher with over fifty years of active service to his name on Maritime fields had nearly reached his eighty- -seventh year. To know him was a privilege He has such a sunny way with him and the secret of the Lord was with him. To be in his company and have him for a friend made it easier to live the honourable way of

life.

Rev. Lawson was born in February 14, 1851 in Caddington, Lancashire, England, the son of Samuel and Eliza L. Lawson.
