REV. GEORGE F. DAWSON 1915 - 1917

“Rev. George F. Dawson, M.A. died in Toronto on November 15th, 1938.

He was born in New Bandon, N.B. and educated at Mount Allison University, receiving the degree of BA. and MA.

He was ordained to the ministry of the Methodist church at Moncton, NE. in 1888.

He served in churches at Keswick, Apohaqui, Dorchester, N.B., Tryon, P.E.I., Little York, P.E.I., Chatham, Albert, St. Stephen, Saint John, Sussex and St. Andrews, N.B.

From 1897 to 1900, Rev. Dawson served in Cornwall, RBI. and from 1915 to 1917, he was the pastor of the Alberton, P.E.I. Circuit which included Miminegash.

He held the offices of Chairman of District and delegate to General Conference on several occasions. In 1910 he was elected President of the Conference, and was also a member of the Board of Regents of Mount Allison University.

His wife was a daughter of the late Rev. Dr. SE Huestis of Halifax, NS.

His personal life was godly and sincere and his presentation of the message was both spiritual and scholarly.”"0

REV. ERNEST EDWIN STYLES 1917 - 1920

“Rev. Ernest Edwin Styles died at his home in Hantsport, N.S., February 20th 1941, aged 71 years. He was born in Hertford, England, and taught in the public schools there. He became a local preacher and then a candidate for the Wesleyan ministry.

Rev. Styles was sent to Montserrat in the West Indies in 1895 and was ordained in 1898. He came to Canada in 1906, where he held important pastorates in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island.

Rev. Ernest E. Styles was the pastor of the Souris, P.E.I. Methodist Church from 1913 to 1917. He then was assigned to the Alberton, P.E.I. Circuit, including Miminegash, from 1917 to 1920.

He was Secretary of the New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island Conference, and in 1923 was elected President of the Conference. He was twice married, and is survived by his second wife.

Mr. Styles was an energetic and painstaking pastor and servant of the church. His muscial genius was widely known.“1
