Rev. Brown died in Port Greville, Nova Scotia on July 18, 1943. He is survived by his widow and three children.

Mr. Brown was of an amiable disposition and studious habits, and he enjoyed the respect and good will of many in the charges in which he laboured.

REV. GEORGE AMBROSE DANIEL ELLIOTT 1926 - 1932

“Rev. G.A.D. Elliott was born in Escuminac, Quebec, on October 6, 1893.

He studied theology at Mount Allison University, and was ordained by the Methodist Church in 1922.

Before ordination, he served as student minister at Winsloe, P.E.l., where he met his wife, Pearl Saunders.

His first Pastoral Charge was Buctouche, N.B., then Montrose, Pownal and Bideford Pastoral Charges on P.E.I. He then served at Tabusintac, N.B., for ten years, thence to New Miles. Waterville was his only pastorate in Nova Scotia. From there he came to York, P.E.I. in 1958, where he remained until his retirement in 1963.

In 1926, the Miminegash Church became part of the Montrose Pastoral Charge with the Rev. Elliott as the pastor from 1926 to 1932. Rev. George Elliott was the first minister whose family occupied the manse in Elmsdale, RE].
