REV. WILLIAM IRA MacDONALD 1943 - 1948

Rev. William Ira MacDonald was born in Hopedale, P.E.I. on November 3, 1911, the son of James Wood MacDonald.

During 1983 to 1937, he taught school in Prince Edward Island. In 1939, he was granted the degree of Bachelor of Arts from Mount Allison University.

After his graduation from Mount Allison, Rev. MacDonald attended Pine Hill Divinity Hall in Halifax, NS. and was ordained on June 8, 1941.

From 1943 to 1948, Rev. MacDonald was the pastor of the Montrose Pastoral Charge in Prince Edward Island. This charge included the Miminegash Church.

The list of his other pastorates is incomplete, but he served the Edgarton, Alberta Pastoral Charge from 1959 to 1960. His last pastoral charge in Alberta was in Della from 1961 to 1963. He then left Alberta. Rev. MacDonald also had pastoral charges in Ontario.

Rev. W. Ira MacDonald lived on a disability pension in Toronto, Ontario for some time. He died on June 11, 1977 in Toronto at the age of sixty five.

The death occurred suddently at the Prince County Hospital on June 24, 1983 of the Rev. John Matthew Sheen B.A. of 128 Merriam Drive, Summerside, P,E.I.
