Rev. Norman Russell Green Momrose Coll.
During the Second World War, Mr. Green served with the Royal Canadian Air Force and following discharge in 1946, he enrolled at Prince of Wales College (now the University of Prince Edward Island) from where he was graduated in 1949. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Mount Allison University in 1951 and was
graduated from Pine Hill Divinity Hall in 1953. Mr. Green was ordained by the Maritime Conference in May, 1953. He served a mission field at Sambro, NS. for two years and following ordination, he held several pastorates in Prince Edward Island and in New Brunswick.
From 1956 to 1958, Rev. Green was the pastor in the Montrose Pastsoral Charge which included Miminegash and Campbellton, P.E.I.
After serving the Newtown-Waterford Pastoral Charge at Sussex Corner, NB. for six years, he retired in June, 1977. After he retired, he lived in Eastern Passage, NS. for two years and then returned to Sussex, N.B. where he lived until his death. Prior to his retirement, Rev. Green had served twenty-four years in the ministry.
Mr. Green is survived by his wife, the former Doris Flann of Campbellton; one daughter, Isabel, Mrs. Gene Clark of Milton, Ontario; three sons, Russell, a teacher at Sussex Regional High School; David, an electronics technician with Nova Scotia Power in Cape Breton, and Ralston of Fredericton; four grandsons and two grand- daughters; one brother, Dr. John W. Green, Victoria, B.C.; two aunts, three nephews and several cousins.
The funeral service was held from St. John’s United Church, Sussex Corner, N.B., on Friday, March 13, 1981, and was conducted by the Rev. Elaine Palmer, assisted by the Rev. Ranald Cameron, the Rev. Paul Taylor, Mrs. Polly Ervin, the President of the Maritime Conference, and Mr. David Moffett, the Vice-Chairman of the Saint John Presbytery. Entombment was at Valley Haven Community Vault pending interment at Trinity Anglican Cemetery Sussex Corner, in the spring.”
