Rev. M. Ronald Pocklington L 0055 Coll. Pocklington was the minister in the Montrose Pastoral Charge in P.E.I. which included Campbellton and Miminegash. In 1969, the Montrose Pastoral Charge and the Alberton Pastoral Charge were joined to form the Alberton — Elmsdale Pastoral Charge. Since 1971, he served the Central Avenue Pastoral Charge in Fort Erie, Ontario, and while in London, he was given an appointment with the Presbyterian Church of New Zealand on an exchange of ministry with a New Zealand minister, a most worthwhile venture. Rev. Pocklington is married to the former Roberta Shaw of Lorne Valley and both of their daughters, Charlotte, aged 17, and Rosemary, aged 16, were born while Rev. and Mrs. Pocklington were living in the Alberton, P.E.l. area. Writing in 1981 of his memories of Miminegash, Rev. Pocklington stated, “Though the years have passed, we have fond memories of the friendships we made while we served Miminegash, P.E.I. We are very aware of how our lives were enriched by the faith, encouragement, and support of these people who are the salt of the earth. The people of Miminegash have continued to give a strong Christian witness in the Miminegash area through the church and their personal lives. Through good times and bad times, they continued to look to Jesus for their comfort and challenge.” 114
