interest he has ever manifested in the spiritual welfare of these people, and anyone labouring here will find in him a most genial friend as well as a most earnest, ready and cheerful helper in the Master’s service.”"7

The Presbyterians in Alberton assumed a financial responsibility towards the new Miminegash Presbyterian Church which is recorded in the Session Minute Book of July 31, 1878 —— “On September 3, 1885: Resolved that a collection to be taken up in the Alberton Presbyterian Church on Sabbath evening week in a

aid of the purchase of the church at Miminegash”.

This effort to help the Presbyterians of Miminegash was confirmed by Mildred (McInnis) Thomson on July 17, 1981 who recalled hearing her mother, Mrs. Alexander (Agnes Reilly) McInnis, tell the story how Mrs. McInnis and Mrs. William (Carrie) Burns went to Springfield West, RBI. to ask for gifts of cooking ingredients such as flour, eggs, and sugar. They then brought these donations home to Miminegash and baked cakes which were sold to pay off the debt of the Bible Christian Church in Miminegash.
