Elder Hugh MacPherson died in 1892 Elder William Thomson died in 1892. The Rev. William MacLeod was appointed minister of the charge in 1892 and continued his pastoral duties there until September, 1895. As Moderator, the Rev. MacLeod entered the following remarks in the records on October 15, 1893: “Miss Costain, youngest daughter of James Costain, having during a short series of special services declared her trust in the atoning death of Jesus and desire to unite with God’s people at His table, was received into full Communion of the church. Although the number who sat down at the table was small, yet the presence of the Master made the service a profitable one.” Elder Michael MacDonald was ordained in March, 1893. Elder Charles MacNeill was ordained in August, 1893. The Presbyterian Witness dated May 4, 1895 reported, “Rev. William MacLeod held special services in his own field, West Point and Campbellton for nine weeks. Rev. MacLeod’s Charge extends thirty miles along the coast with services in five places.” 228
