Following a very active ministry in West Point, Campbellton, and Miminegash, the Rev. William MacLeod left in September, 1895 and was replac- ed in the fall of 1895 by the Rev. John Valentine who remained in this Charge until December, 1896. Rev. John Valentine recorded that Communion was dispensed in Campbellton and Miminegash on August 13, 1896.
3. SACRAMENT OF COMMUNION IN MIMINEGASH
The problems of providing the Sacrament of Communion in Miminegash without the services of an Elder continued to plague the Charge until 1897. The Rev. Donald MacLean arrived on August 7, 1897 to start a ministry destined to last until 1906. Shortly after Rev. MacLean’s arrival, Elder Charles MacNeill and Elder Daniel Reilly of the Campbellton Presbyterian Church volunteered to serve as Elders for the Miminegash Presbyterian Church. Starting on August 29, 1897, Elder Charles MacNeill and Elder Daniel Reilly faithfully served the Miminegash Congregation in this capacity until at least 1906 when at the end of the Rev. Donald MacLean’s pastorate, no further mention was made in the records regar- ding the concern of the Charge for providing Communion in the Miminegash Church. Sometimes an Elder from West Point would travel to Miminegash to take the place of Elder MacNeill or Elder Reilly.
Communion was served in Miminegash by Elder Charles MacNeill and Elder Daniel Reilly on July 31, 1898, July 30, 1899, September 8, 1901, August 17, 1902, September 13, 1903, September 11, 1904, August 13, 1905, and September 30, 1906.
