May, 1954 Purchased new lawn mower. 1955 Harry Thomson said that the new siding was put on the church in 1955, and that the men wrote their names and dates under the shingles. 1956 Electric service installed in 1956. July, 1963 Hymn Board and Attendance board purchased. CAMPAIGN TO RAISE MONEY FOR REPAIRS TO CHURCH BUILDING In 1976, Mary MacKay Cousins and Dorothy MacKendrick Horne became con- cerned about the deterioration of the church building. They decided to start a letter writing campaign to spread the word that Campbellton needed financial help to renovate and repair the building. Letters were sent out in 1976 and 1977, and much to their surprise, $1277.00 was sent to the church right away. The letters were remembered and through the years, those living “away” have been thoughtful enough to continue to send contributions. 1977 Paneling installed $227.00 1977 Cedar siding $1533.06 1981 Exterior of church painted by contract 1982 Carpet purchased and installed The paneling and siding was put on by Fred Eagle, Elbridge Cousins, Harry MacKay and Ross MacKay. 1982 Judy MacKay and Linda MacKay oiled the siding. 1982 Roof shingled by Reginald McInnis and Wade McInnis. 261
