FIRST WEDDING IN THE CAMPBELLTON CHURCH THOMSON - BRADSHAW
A very pretty wedding was solemnized in the Campbellton United Church, Tuesday at 3:00 pm, September 11, 1951, when Rev. John M. Sheen united in mar- riage Esther Isabelle, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Bradshaw and Robert Leith, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Thomson of Roseville.
The church was nicely decorated with summer flowers, and the guest pews were marked with white bows. The bride entered the church on the arm of her father, while the wedding march was being played by Mrs. Harry Thomson, aunt of the groom, and Esther looked a picture of girlish loveliness in a floor length gown of white satin with sweetheart neckline and fitted bodice. Her finger tip veil was held in place by a bridal headdress. She carried a bouquet of gladioli.
Miss Jean Cameron, cousin of the bride, was maid of honor, and was dressed in a gown of blue taffeta. She carried a bouquet of gladioli. Her bridesmaid, Miss Marion Cousins, wore a gown of yellow taffeta and carried a bouquet of gladioli. The groom was supported by his brother, Bert Thomson. Ushers were Kenneth
Thomson and Vance MacKay.
During the signing of the register, Mrs. Elbridge Cousins sang very nicely, “I Love You Truly”.
Following the ceremony the bridal party motored to the home of the bride’s parents, where a delicious turkey dinner was served to the immediate relatives and friends. The young couple left on Thursday for Toronto where they will reside. Their multitude of friends wish them a long and a happy wedded life.
