Because of this, we determined that a document was given to us stated that "son of Charles McDonald of Scotchfort ..." should have read "five sons of Angus McDonald of Scotchfort ". Charles had five sons: James, Alexander, Ronald, John, and Donald. He divided his land between his sons, with the exception of James, who settled on the northern side of the Orwell River .
