Cross was organized to assist in the promotion of good health. Posters reminded students of the "00's and Don'ts" of good

nutrition.

During recess, boys and girls played ball and other games for outdoor exercise. Window panes got broken occasionally but luckily this was not a common occurrence.

Teachers were encouraged to join the Teacher's Federation. They were granted time off around Easter to attend this convention. This provided an opportunity for the teachers to enjoy the company of their peers and to pick up some useful teaching skills, all at considerable personal expense.

In spite of many deficiencies by modern standards, many of our

professional leaders had their start in the one—room school. Well-educated and professional people enriched country life by
