At other times, the children could be found ice skating on James MacDonald's property. With the many hills in OnNell Cove, it was not surprising to find the children racing up and down the hills with their toboggans. The cool, crisp winter days kept the children very busy during the day, and the nights were always quiet, due to their exhaustion.

Every year after the Christmas concert, dances were held, as

well as other times of the year. The music was usually supplied by Billy Morrissey, Herb Worth, Francis Drake, and Eddie Martin.
