Present Owners: Al and Peggy Larkin Past Owners: Orwell Cove School Al and Peggy Larkin Al and wife Peggy purchased the Orwell Cove School in 1971. When they came over the hill and saw the cove that first time, they knew where they wanted to spend their summers in the future. This was before they even became acquainted with all the good people , who accepted them, and made them feel at home in the summer of 1971. Al , originally from Boston, and Peggy, along with their children, Carol, Paul, Michael, Joseph, Laura, and Donna, have spent the last 24 summer vacations at the Orwell Cove schoolhouse. The Orwell Cove school was built in 1898 by Norman Gillis . The school had two classrooms in it. The upstairs had a hall that was used for concerts. Due to consolidation, the smaller schools went up for tender and in 1971, Al and Peggy Larkin purchased the Orwell Cove school house. 69
