Eilidh. Laurena has her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Mount St. Vincent's University. She presently resides in Halifax, NS;
d. Ronald, b. 1963, married Heather MacLean from Halifax. They have two children, Micaela and Caelan. Ronald graduated from Nova Scotia Technical College with a Degree in Mining Engineering. He is presently employed with the Alberta Oil Industry and resides in Calgary, AB;
e. Wilbur, Jr. (Bernard), b. 1965, joined the Armed Forces in 1988, received his R.C.A.F. wings in 1990. He presently works as a Captain with Maritime Patrol, stationed in Greenwood, NS;
f. Timothy, b. 1968, presently resides and works on the family farm; g. Jaunita, b. 1974, presently attends Mount St. Vincent's
University, working towards a Degree in Bachelor of Human Ecology. She resides in Halifax and Orwell Cove;
h. Andrew, b. 1979, attends Montague Regional High School, presently resides on the family farm;
i. Faber, b. 1980, attends Vernon River Consolidated
School, lives on the family farm.
A keen interest in his community and country led Wilbur MacDonald to first enter political life. This contributed to his successful nomination in the election for the Progressive Conservative Party in August, 1978. After winning the election of May 1979, Wilbur and his family moved to Ottawa in time for the fall school term. During that time, Wilbur had the opportunity to "Second" the Speech from the Throne. He served on the Beef Import Committee for Canada. After the defeat of the Government, Wilbur ran unsuccessfully in the election of 1980, and the byrelection of 1981.
In 1982, Wilbur entered Provincial politics and served as Chairman of the Caucus until 1984, when he was appointed Minister of Industry until 1986. He was re-elected in 1986 and served as Opposition Member and on the Legislative Committees of Agriculture, Fisheries, Regional Economic Development. Wilbur was an unsuccessful candidate in the
