William and Margaret lived on a 55 acre farm on the Brush Wharf Road and raised cattle, horses, sheep, and poultry and grew potatoes, turnips and grain. In 1915 the present house was built. Hazel was the only child born in the new home. The old home is kept for storing machines etc. William bought another 55 acres on the left side of the Cove Road - south to the Trans Canada Highway across to the woods to the Newtown Creek part of this farm was sold later to Ben Beers. Walter farmed with his father, dug mussel mud for the land, and cut lumber and fire wood to keep the home fires burning. Farmers helped each other with threshing grain etc. and the ladies had quilting and hooking parties. They sold their farm on the Brush Wharf Road to Gerrit Visser, but kept an acre of land and their home. They enjoy watching the sun go down on Orwell Bay.

William, d. 1947 and Margaret, d. 1950, are buried in Belfast Cemetery.
