There are many people who were prominent residents of OnNell Cove, but are either no longer alive, or their homes are no longer standing. They are as follows:
Anderson, Alexander (Murdock) — Alex Anderson, d. 1859, married Mary Gillis and had a daughter, Isabella. This house was located between the Hunter's residence and the Morrison's. This house can now be seen in Orwell.
Anderson, John — seaman.
Beaton, Walter— 1867 — lived and worked at James MacLean's.
Brown, William — married Margaret MacDonald. They had two children: Claudine and Danny.
Burke, Edward - shoemaker. He had 5 five children: James, Thomas, Annie, Richard, Joseph.
Carver -
Clarke, Denis - 1881 - Brush Wharf.
Clarke, Josephine - worked for Stevens.
Cook, David — close to Craig's. He had two children: William
and Robert. Cook, Robert- married Jessie MacLeod. They had a daughter,
Rena. Cook, William - married Belle MacLeod. He had son, Clayton,
who was a minister.
Delory, Charles- Douse, John - 1880 - lived at wharf. He was a farmer at
Douse's Point.
Doyle, Alexander - from Ireland. He was a sheriff. He married Rachel MacLeod.
Findlay, Hugh - a dentist. He was and English Presbyterian. He lived at Brush Wharf and he married Lucetta. His siblings were Henrietta, Hedley, Robert, William, Laura, Annie, and Cora.
Gill, John - fom Newtown, but lived at Allan MacDonald's.
~ Gillis, Billy Peggy - married Euphemia Larrabe.
