1957—-First electricity to Orwell Cove December 20th,1957 1962--Lighthouse became automated at Brush Wharf and Douse's Point

1963-—The Hilltop Sewers was formed

1966--Roads from Grant's Corner to Walter MacLeod's and Edison MacLean's were paved

1966——School's went to consolidation in 1971 1977--Telephone service in this exchange converted to dial operation

1984—Brush Wharf and Douse's Point Lighthouses were phased out
