Legislative Assembly

Walter R. Shaw: No, of course not.

be Honourable Alexander B. Campbell: The more we can get from Ottawa the tter!

Walter R. Shaw: Sure.

Honourable Alexander B. Campbell: That was the story the other day, and it is still the story.

L. George Dewar: We tried to get him appointed and they would not appoint him for us.

Honourable Alexander B. Campbell: Now why would you criticize Ottawa for appointing a man as a Centennial Commissioner?

Walter R. Shaw: Nobody criticized Ottawa; you are doing the criticizing.

Honourable Alexander B. Campbell: You were criticizing all these highly paid people that Ottawa is sending us. Now what about the criticism? Who else was on the line-up?

Walter R. Shaw: Well there is a dozen of them.

Honourable Alexander B. Campbell: I regretted very much to hear the critic- ism levelled at the man hired by Industrial Enterprises, Mr. Speaker, as Manager of that organization.

Walter R. Shaw: Mr. Speaker, we have to have some truth in this thing. I never mentioned the man that was hired by Enterprises, never mentioned his name.

Some Member: Who is he? Honourable Alexander B. Campbell: Who is he?

Walter R. Shaw: Well, you are talking about him, you should know. (Laughter).

Honourable Alexander B. Campbell: Well who were you criticizing? Some MeIIIber: Nobody, nobody, was criticizing. Honourable Alexander B. Campbell: Tell us the ones you were criticizing.

Walter R. Shaw: I have a question on that and I will take in a dozen of them, and iI am going to ask you to state what they are doing and what salaries they are gett ng too.

Honourable Alexander R. Campbell: Well now, I have your speech word for word here, Sir, and you covered a lot of territory, and I am sure that he was covered in the "bag-of~tricks” there.

Walter R. Shaw: The Draft Address did. That was Pandora’s box.

Honourable Alexander B. Campbell: All of a sudden all these co-ordinators are disappearing, then you were not criticizing any of them.

Some Member: What about Gallagher?

Honourable Alexander B. Campbell: Oh we will get to him in a minute. Walter R. Shaw: What about Mr. Mullally?

Honourable Alexander B. Campbell: We just mentioned him. Walter R. Shaw: The Liberal Organizer.

Honourable Alexander B. Campbell: A good man. Walter R. Shaw: Good fellows. Has his office down next to yours. _5s_
