Legislative Assembly Some Member : Here, here. (Applause). L. George Dewar : And which we are looking: forward to! Honourable Robert E. Campbell : Where do you want the golf course? L. George Dewar : I am suggesting to the Minister it would be quite in order if he extended the park across the road, along the Mill River , on both sides of the Mill River , and that it would make one of the most attractive golf course situation or areas on Prince Edward Island . Honourable Robert E. Campbell : We agree on that too, very good. L. George Dewar : But we want action very shortly because we don't want all the action to take place in Kings County. I am afraid that a good bit is going there because everybody recognizes that the provincial government is overloaded with honourable members from the eastern part of the province, and the representatives of must be very much on their toes to see that the services and the benefits of the administration are not bestowed too greatly on the Eastern part of the orovince rather than on the West where there are very many attractions and worthwhile situations to develop. Walter R. Shaw : Troubled with constipation down in Kings County, I think. Not action. L. George Dewar : Now. Mr. Speaker , as the time for recess is coming very close I would call it five-thirty. (Applause). L. George Dewar : Mr. Speaker , before recess. I had made a few comments on the matter of parliamentary privileges, responsibilities which I do not think had very much effect on the Committees of the House, apparently. I also mentioned the oassini? of the Governor -Oeneral and I understand that the Prime Minister of Canada has named a successor in the person of Honourable Roland Mitchener (Applause) I do not know this gentleman personally but I understand that he is a man who is well thousrht of in all circles in Canada , that he has a reputation for diplomacy and impartiality, in fact I think the last edition of Beauchesne, which is quoted here so often, has been dedicated to the Honourable Roland Mitchener , the former Speaker of the House of Commons, Ottawa. I am sure we can all look forward to his service to Canada as Governor - General in the years ahead, and that he will uphold the honour of that high position in a manner in which all Canadians will be proud. I would like to mention the District from which I come, which is the of Prince . We have an area there that is vying for the Rural Beautification supremacy in Prince Edward Island , the district of Cape Wolfe , and I understand that they are in the running again for this honour. We wish them every success. Last evening. I understand, the Tyne Valley Clover Farmers nearly won the hockey championship of Prince Edward Island . I understand that they lost out very narrowly to a team from the Fourth District of Kings. We have an important agricultural and fishing area there. I am sorry to say that our lobster fishermen have suffered losses during the last couple of seasons and we look forward to the Government taking action to assist these lobster fishermen, who had very poor catches, as was done last year by the previous Government, much to the satisfaction of these people who suffered those losses. We have an important growing area. I understand that CLeary which serves a great deal of the is one of the foremost shipping centres for pota¬ toes in Prince Edward Island . We certainly look and trust that the government will do something to alleviate the serious situation that has arisen with respect to the marketing and the price of potatoes. I might also mention the dairy industry. There are perhaps very few in this House that know that in the village of there is a butter manufacturing —100—
