However I understand that an area in Kings County was considered also but it turns out that the Minister of Health said that there was no room for it down there, and I was glad to see that he made that pronouncement because I figured then that it would be a simple matter for it to be relocated in West Prince where it is badly needed, and where there is a lack of industry, lack of tourist attractions, and where land is easily available for the institution of a natural park around Egmont Bay. You could start at West Point and go right around to Egmont Bay, the whole area there it has good beaches.

Some Member: Would that be the Cedar Dunes?

L. George Dewar: Good beaches; there is not a better beach on the Island than there is at Cedar Dunes. There are other areas along there that have good beaches; it has a lot of natural' vegetation, the land would be easily obtained and it wouldn't cost too much, and there is good fishing areas for trout, lobster, oysters, quahogs and what have you all along the seashore there.

Honourable M. Lorne Bonnell: We are having a hard job to get fresh water. L. George Dewar: What’s that?

Honourable M. Lorne Bonnell: We are having a hard job to get fresh water. We got to stay in shallow.

L. George Dewar: Well that’s all right they have lived there in West Point on that kind of water for 160 years and nobody has ever suffered from it, and I see they have finally done what I advised them to do three years ago. that it has been carried out and everything is going on smoothly. I commend the Minister of Parks for building a bath house there and, of course, I had his predecessor talked into doing it but a good bit of the work was carried out under the present Minister. They did a very good job, they put in a water supply and everything is going along smoothly and that is an area which has a lot of possibilities, the Cedar Dunes area. I would hope that the Government would reconsider the decision that the Premier gave us the other day that they were going to establish the National Park in Kings County because I think there is every argument in favour of it going West. I am sure the honourable members from the First District of Prince will agree with me one hundred percent in this regard. (Applause) I would also like to mention Green Park and the institution of a ship-building museum in the historical old Yeo House which is on pro erty which the Government owns. I think it is a natural spot for it because the eo’s were the shipbuilding pioneers in Prince Edward Island, and it would certainly be a very worthy thing if this program could be carried forward and it would be a good tourist attraction, and I am told that there are a lot of old shipbuilding instruments and tools, and records all through the area there that could be gathered up and included in this museum and I trust that the Minister of Parks will look at that and endeavour to promote that program.

Honourable M. Lorne Donnell: We are looking at that. Your colleague is interested in it as well.

L. George Dewar: Yes I understand that.

Now, Mr. Speaker, the time for adjournment has come and I have a few further remarks to make on a number of topics and I would move the adjournment of the

Debate.
