For the second time in three years our province is participating in Centennial celebrations. One hundred years of Confederation have brought us much to be proud of, and in the period Canada has attained nationhood and has played important roles in world affairs. The plans for the 1967 celebrations will see many of our communi- ties participating. Twenty-two centennial projects have been approved and seven more are pending under the Federal~Provincial per capita grants program. The approved projects are as follows:
Covehead, West Covehead and Stanhope School District are making an addi- tion of a modern kitchen to their hall.
Alexandra School District: publication of a book — Two Hundred Year His- tory of the District.
Pownal School District: construction of closed-in skating rink.

Kilmuir School District: renovation of historic building and development of an adjacent park.
Murray River: development of park and sports complex. Borden: additional facilities for the rink.
St. Eleanors: Lych-gate leading to the grave of W. H. Pope. Mount Stewart: additional facilities for community gathering-a. Cape Wolfe School District: community hall.
Brackley Point School District: addition of a modern kitchen to the hall. Georgetown: development and beautification of Kent Square. Cornwall: recreational playground.
Crapaud: artificial ice-plant in the curling rink.
Montague: artificial ice-plant in their skating rink.
Wellington: community centre and park.
Summerside: swimming pool.
Charlottetown: band instruments for the high school. Parkdale: recreational park.
Sherwood: community park and playground.
Charlottetown Rural Regional High School: an athletic field. North Rustico: park and playground.
Alberton: artificial ice-plant.
O’Leary: a rink.
Athena High School: an observatory.
Most of these projects, you will note, provide community halls or recreation facilities for the respective communities and will be lasting memorials to the 1967 Centennial Year.
Confederation Caravans will depict Canada’s history during the past one hun- dred years. The Caravan, which arrives in the province on June 30th, stops at Mur- ray River, Montague, Souris, Morell, North Rustico, Kensington, O’Leary, Wellington and Borden, leaving the province on July 10th. Confederation Train comes to Char- lottetown and Summerside in October. It is hoped that these Caravans and Trains will bring to all Canadians a greater awareness of their country and themselves, and a better understanding of the meaning of Centennial, and a real feeling of enthus- iasm for the occasion. The Canada Festival will give Canadians an opportunity to see and hear the finest entertainers in Canada at prices within their reach. We have already seen some top performers here. The National Ballet, Stratford Players and The Best of Barkerville, a program of popular entertainment which will appeal to young and old, will be provided in several centres throughout the province during the summer. The Youth Travel Program has given to over 400 of our high school students the opportunity to travel to other provinces since 1964. Besides giving the students a chance to see other parts of Canada, it also allows them to mix with their counterparts and get some appreciation how others live. A special program of Com- munity Improvement and Rural Beautification is well organized and it is ho many more of our citizens will participate in an effort to make our rural and ur n communities even more attractive, by redecorating their properties, planting trees,
