Tuesday, May 16, 1967 L. George Dewar : That can't be a debt of the Province, that U going to be paid back. Honourable T. Earle Hickey : Ton have to borrow it by a mortgage, isnt that a debt? L. George Dewar : No, no. It is not a debt, if you are going to count that, yon should count the debt of all the other corporations in the Province, but they are not in there. Honourable T. Earle Hickey : Sure. L. George Dewar : No, no. That is not net debt at all. That is going to be paid back in two days. You are going to get the money from the and Housing Corporation. Then you could put in an item of revenue over the next num¬ ber of years that will amortize that debt through rentals. Honourable T. Earle Hickey : You don't include the revenue until you get it. What about the losses? L. George Dewar : Very few losses. Very few losses. Showed a profit Honourable T. Earle Hickey : Oh yes? L. George Dewar : Yes, it showed a profit. Honourable T. Earle Hickey : Sure. Some Member : What about the assets yon have from the building? L. George Dewar : We have an asset in the building. It is a capital asset. Earle Hickey : I know that, I know that L. George Dewar : No direct revenue. Honourable T. Earle Hickey : No direct revenue from the other. L. George Dewar : Oh yes. A year ago, there was a million dollars put in there to build Vocational Schools in Kings County where it is badly needed and in where it is equally badly needed. Nothing was done by the present administration with respect to these schools and this year they come in with the budget that cuts one of them altogether and leaves the estimate m for Kings County. Now I wouldn't like to suggest, Mr. Speaker , that because some five Members of the present Government are from Kings County, and I know they are all smart, able men, and that we have only one Minister without Portfolio in the western part of tine Province, I wouldn't like to suggest that that is the reason .... Honourable Gordon L. Bennett : Well dont suggest it. You had better not —427—
