Honourable Robert E. Campbell: Of Provincial pavement?

Walter R. Shaw: What the deuce is the difference as long as you got the pavement? But if you are thinking about that, it is a Conservative avement and what you got up there was put down because of a grant given this Pro ee by Prime Minister Diefenbaker when he was in power. (Applause) And the other Conserva- tive Government here gave you the rest, you got seventy miles. In the Second District they got twenty-two; we put in sixty-three miles. In the third district twenty-one miles were done in those ten years; we put in fifty-nine miles. In the fourth district, though this is where your equality comes in, where you on] got

twenty-two, and twenty-two and twenty-one in the other three districts. The ourth district got sixty miles, sixty miles you got, that was certainly. . . .

Honourable George J. Ferguson: That is that spray cost you are talking about. You just sprayed the top of the road and they called it pavement.

Walter R. Shaw: If it was just spray coat, you fellows put it on. You put the spray coat on if you want to admit it. Now, you had better try and get your facts right. Under a good Government, in those ten years, fifty-nine miles in the fourth district of Prince and might we run over to the place where my Honourable friend lives down in Murray Harbour? Let’s see what happened there. In two years you put in forty-four miles and in the second district of Kings you got 13.8 miles.

Honourable George J. Ferguson: Where in the world did you get that? Walter R. Shaw: That is the equality.

Honourable George J. Ferguson: What about fifth Kings?

Walter R. Shaw: Never mind fifth Kings, I am talking. . . .

Honourable George J. Ferguson: Oh no; we are worried about fifth Kings. Walter R. Shaw: I am going to give you the figures.

Honourable George J. Ferguson: Good. Good.

Walter R. Shaw: These are your figures I am quoting, not mine.

Honourable George J. Ferguson: No, they are not mine. Walter R. Shaw: And he certainly must be embarrassed here new. Honourable George J. Ferguson: I never heard of that one before.

Walter R. Shaw: In the Liberal district they got forty-four miles in two years and the other districts didn’t get hardly anything. Now, take equality, let us look at First Prince with the large amount of mileage that we put in in these years from 1949 to 1966; ninety-three miles, that is not bad pickings. In the third district, eighty—one miles; in the fourth district, eighty-three and a half miles which brought it into line with the other districts. And I want to tell my Honourable friend that I am going to watch him very carefully with regard to the allocation of these roads.

Honourable George J. Ferguson: You will.

Walter R. Shaw: And I am going to be on his doorstep with regards to the first district of Queens. I will. . . .

Honourable George J. Ferguson: Yes, glad to see you anytime.

Walter R. Shaw: I will see to it that we get our proper allocation and the roads will be put in the proper place to.

Honourable George J. Ferguson: You got more than your share. Walter R. Shaw: We didn’t get more than our share. Honourable George J. Ferguson: Yes, you did. Walter R. Shaw: Well, how is that?
