Legislative‘AAssembly"
lot of work for the first and Second Districts of Prince, and when I say First and Second Districts of Prince we are taking them from Tignish to West Devon. I will say that some of the members from the Second District, the two Conservative members there, there are some of their voters and some others working in that building.
Thomas A. Curran: Really!
Hon. Robert E. Campbell: That’s true, that is the way we do things up West, we use everybody alike and that is something I cannot say about you people. \Ve even have them there that stood against me in the last election, but I still love them, and they are still working there. (Applause) Also, a beautiful auditorium and a number of classrooms added to the Alberton Regional High School, and I could go on and talk for a long spell on the wonderful things that have happened under Liberal Government in West Prince. I haven’t time today but I might say that last night when I went home I wasn’t feeling very good and I didn’t know if I would be able to take part in this Debate today. I guess with a few prayers that I offered last night I am able to carry on for a spell anyway.
(Applause)
I know the Opposition do not want an election probably for two or three years, but I want you all to be good to me because this may be the last time that I will be speaking in this House, so I am going to carry on.
I would like to congratulate the Minister of Agriculture on the wonderful work that he is doing. These are hard times for the Minister of Agriculture, but not as hard as some of them are saying. We had a Resolution brought in here the other night about potatoes, and I was surprised. It was a good friend of mine who brought it in, and he did not write it. It reminds me of a Resolution that “one vote-Sinnott” would put up — there were a lot of mistakes in it.
Keith S. Harrington: Now, Mr. Speaker, if he is referring to any Resolution that I introduced this is entirely wrong, it is erroneous.
Hon. Robert E. Campbell: If you wish to speak, Sir, you sit down and then you can have a little time after to get up and speak, and express your point.
Keith S. Harrington: I want to correct that, Mr. Speaker. Mr. Speaker . . . .
Hon. Robert E. Campbell: Mr. Speaker I have the floor and I would like to keep it. If he has a question to ask me, if he directs it to me I will sit down and answer it for him.
If he has a question to ask me I will sit down and he can ask it.
Keith S. Harrington: Mr. Speaker, on a Point of Order, I am rising on a Point of Order. Mr. Speaker, I want this House to clearly understand that no one wrote that Resolution except myself, and I did not refer one word to potatoes, everything in general. (Applause)
Hon. Robert E. Campbell: Mr. Speaker, all I have to go by is the Resolution that is before my face and I am reading out of the Resolution, ”that there were no groups or organizations.” And when he said that he meant that there were no groups or organizations on RE. Island that were worth anything. That’s what he meant when he said it, and who was he condemning? Seven main groups, seven main groups. Prince County Federation, Queens County Federation, Kings County Federation, Central Farmers Co-op, P.E.I. Mutual Fire Insurance Company, Co-op Union, Sheep Breeders’ Association, Junior Farmers, P.E.I. Approved Flock As- sociation, Swine Breeders’ Association, P.E.I. Dairymen’s Association, P.E.I. Women’s Institute, Farm Radio Forum, Artificial Breeding Association, P.E. Island Fluid Milk Association, P.E. Island Beef Producers’ Association, P.E.I. Potato Producers Association. That is who he was condemning and that is why this side of the House did not vote for it. (Applause) We would have been voting non-confidence in
