Hon. Alexander B. Campbell: Georgetown.

Henry W. Wedge: Take you through this Province and show you the Regional High Schools that were fifty years behind the times. For twenty-two years there was nothing done in this Province, all they wanted....nineteen million, twenty million, we haven’t got the money, we can’t do it. So there was nothing done. It Was time for a shake up and we shook her up! We shook her up. We spent the money and we have the assets to show for it that’s more than you did. (Applause) You fellows have gone in debt some $20,000,000 and you have nothing to show for it. What have you got to Show for it? What have you got to show for it?

Robert E. Campbell: What’s wrong with you?

Henry W. Wedge: So, it’s a strange thing that an employee of the Government, not the Minister, would sign such a letter and make such a statement. I was never so surprised in all my life to see that. Can you imagine going to Tignish or Alberton and saying, “We’re going to take your school away from you”. Can you imagine going and doing that at Englewood?

The First District of Prince, they’re all on relief according to the figures here. (Laughter) It’s one of the largest Districts in the Province. It’s spread right from the Line Road to Malpeque. All over as all roads were the same as the Phillip Road. No money for it but we’re going to get the golf course, $325,000. We are going to get a vocational school, $1,000,000. All good things. I asked for another $2,000,000 and, of course, we got the Brookvale Ski Slide. I never heard the figure on that.

Walter R. Shaw: Oh, yes, who owns that?

Henry W. Wedge: But we got to keep the people on skis. That’s the only way to keep them moving. We’re on a tread wheel. We. . . .

Hon. Alexander B. Campbell: Were you happy to get the St. Chrysostome Road paved last year?

Henry W. Wedge: What’s that?

Hon. Alexander B. Campbell: Weren’t you happy to get the St. Chrysostome Road paved last year?

Henry W. Wedge: Yes, but it was the St. Phillip Road they were supposed to pave. (Laughter)

Walter R. Shaw: Tell us about the ski slide.

Henry W. Wedge: What?

Walter R. Shaw: Tell us about that ski slide.

Henry W. Wedge: I never saw it but I understand.

Hon. Alexander B. Campbell: We put that in the Leader of the Opposition’s District for his entertainment. (Laughter)

Walter R. Shaw: You’re on the skids now. Henry W. Wedge: Now, Mr. Speaker, it’s getting late now and....

Hon. Alexander B. Campbell: You’re doing a good job. Carry on. Carry on until midnight.

Unknown Voice: Carry on. Another ten minutes.

Henry W. Wedge: Mr. Speaker, I can only say to the young people of our Province, stay with us and keep hoping, joined together to build here in truth the fair land which so pleased Cartier and his contemporaries but if you cannot deny the clarion call of far away places, live in the manner you have been taught here. Be circum- spect and industrious and success will follow regardless of the sphere of your en- deavours. Thank you. (Applause)
