of according to their needs. Most of our Disabled Person’s Allowance recipients have received an increase from $75.00 to $100.00 per month.

No longer do we require disabled persons to run to the different medical prac- titioners in the Province with a form to be completed and brought before a medical board, only to find that they were not totally and permanently disabled. These individuals are now treated according to their needs and are receiving a much greater allowance from the Department than ever before.

Old Age Assistance. The Old Age Assistance Group continues to shrink; we are losing practically 300 recipients per year to the Old Age Security. At the end of December 1967 all individuals 67 years of age and over qualified for Old Age Security. Hence anyone who was on our roll previous to that time, and who reached the age of 67. was transferred accordingly. Next year the age will be lowered to sixty-six, and in 1970 the final group of Old Age Assistance recipients will be trans- ferred to the Old Age Security rolls.
