two or three members on that side who are going along very reluctantly with this type of nonsense. Mr. Speaker, I would like to comment on an article that appeared in the Toronto Star Weekly in which my name appears. Mr. Speaker, I submit that the only truth that is in it is the fact that it was an official opening down there in Georgetown. Completely false.
Unknown Voice: Is it true where you’re working now. Leo F. Rossiter: It’s completely false. I am on no one’s payroll. I work for myself.
Hon. Alex. B. Campbell: Good, Sir.
Leo F. Rossiter: And I challenge, challenge any civil servant who worked in the Department of Fisheries, Department of Industry and Natural Resources and the Department of Municipal Affairs to produce evidence that I ever forced anyone or influenced any senior civil servant to loan Government money, or forced anyone to sign anything and I challenge them to bring forth their evidence. (Applause) Mr. Speaker, this is my opinion, that this article was promoted by the Liberal Party in this Province, it was endorsed by the Government of this Province.
Hon. Cecil A. Miller: You are a liar. Do you understand that?
Leo F. Rossiter: Mr. Speaker, make him take that back.
Hon. Cecil A. Miller: You’re a liar.
Leo F. Rossiter: Mr. Speaker. . ..
Unknown Voices: Make him take it back.
Hon. Cecil A. Miller: The Government of this Province had nothing to do with it. Leo F. Rossiter: Make him take it back, Mr. Speaker, make him take it back. Walter R. Shaw: Put him out.
Leo F. Rossiter: Put him out, put him out.
Hon. Cecil A. Miller: I'll not go out!
Leo F. ROSSItel‘Z Mr. Speaker, Mr. Speaker, Mr. Speaker.
Hon. Cecil A. Miller: If you want me to retract that, I’ll retract it; but I still think you’re what I said you were.
Leo F. Rossiter: Mr. Speaker.... J. Cyril Sinnott: We can’t stand for that.
Walter R. Shaw: We had a case of this kind last year and the man who made it was “named” and he was removed from this Chamber. Now, apply the same pen- alty here. “Name” this man and have him leave this Chamber.
Hon. Cecil A. Miller: I’ve already told that I would take back what I have said; but he’s still what I think he was. (Sensation and Cheers) Just the very same as you said your opinion was that Sigsworth wrote my speech and I still state so. Therefore, it is my opinion.
Leo F. Rossiter: Are you going to name that man, Mr. Speaker?
Mr. Speaker: Do you retract?
Hon. Cecil A. Miller: I’ve retracted. Unknown Voice: No.
Mr. Speaker: He’s retracted.
Walter R. Shaw: No, he didn’t retract. Mr. Speaker: He says he did.
