He was also the author of WW published in London in i806 which details the geography, history, culture, and, very charmingly, the plant, animal and fish life of the island. He became a considerable landowner and established his seat at Mount Stewart. 5. Joseph Robinson (cal742-l807), a South Carolina Loyalist & military officer, became a respected Island lawyer, judge, farmer and politician. He was at one time Speaker of the House and later a member of the Council. With Robert Hodgson he was an early advocate of escheat, the penalizing of the lands of proprietors who were delinquent in fulfilling the terms of their grants. ’
