The ships built by Angus and Hugh were owned by them and used for shipment of merchandise sold in the stores at Panmure I., Point and later Georgetown. Ronald MacDonald was a cargo super employed by Angus and Hugh. Since he was a former merchant of Glasgow he could probably use his previous connections to advantage. The retired solder Colin built most of the family buildings and rented a store to Angus. " Angus MacDonald of Pt. pays rent for my Store Office Cellar under the store with the use of kitchen till required from the first Sept. 1836." When in the Old Country Colin used his influence to benefit Hugh and Angus. There was little mention of Charles, Archibald and James. Alexander was referred to as being a wood ranger in Lot 53. Clementine Macdonald was the only daughter to marry. The other two, Matilda and Catherine, spinsters, lived with their brother Hugh. Hugh Macdonald — It is presumed that Hugh came out from Scotland with his father in 1806 bringing his wife Catherine, daughter of Archibald Macdonald of Dalalea Inverness , Scotland , with him. He first lived on Panmure I. where he worked with his father and brothers in the mercantile business under the name of Andrew Macdonald and Sons. On the 1st of April, 1823 he and his brother Angus leased 200 acres on Lot 53 known as Point. There they carried on a co-partnership in commerce and shipbuilding. Hugh made his intention to leave the business known in the Mar. 8,1831 edition of the Royal Gazette . On August 20,1832, the dissolution was finalized and Hugh returned to Panmure I. where his
