It was then used as a community centre. Christmas dinners, and New Year’s Eve dinners and dances were held, after the addition of a kitchen. The centre brought the families together, as a heart for the community. Aloysius MacDonald granted the use of the land on which the school is built to the Panmure Island Community Associa- tton.
