FORWARD

Early in the year I997 Scott MacDonald saw the urgent need of compiling a factual history ofthe elders in Zion Presbyterian Church with a special emphasis on their contribution to ministry as well as their distinguished careers in the community.

This effort became a labor of love for Scott. When he began his research he discovered many interesting facts that had never been made public as well as some discrepancies in past histories. It was his personal feeling that the book should go beyond the history of elders, giving an up- to-date history of what is known as Zion Presbyterian Church today.

During his hours of research he came across documents in the archives of Pine Hill Divinity School that indicated the congregation of Zion Presbyterian Church had its beginning some years prior to the date we have been using for its beginning.

To Scott we want to express a deep debt of thanks for a great effort in completing this history. We thank him for his untiring devotion, his deep sense of church history, his diligent research in making this history a reality. We trust that you will find this document a book of inspiration as you read the roll call of saints. May its contents direct and maintain a

fervent witness for Jesus Christ through the ministry of Zion Presbyterian Church.
