DEDICATION

From our inception, Zion has had great ministers leading us, with an average ministry to this church of almost ten years. On November 2, I997, the congregation of Zion Presbyterian Church gathered in celebration of Rev. Dr. Gordon Matheson's twenty years with our'church. One speaker said "We had Rev. Carlyle Webster for twenty-two years, Dr. Donald Campbell for eighteen years and Gordon is here for twenty, we get them and we can't seem to get rid of them." Said in jest, but in

reality, we at Zion develop a good working relationship with our ministers, and we hang on to the good ones.

Dr. Matheson accomplishes the daily and long-term chores of this church with apparent relative ease, if viewed from the outside. Not to diminish his task and success, but it is a credit to him that all functions of the church appear to operate so smoothly. This is because Gordon is a strong administrator, who through the grace of God has selected able people to head up various functions of the church. Gordon is a strong, gifted, evangelical speaker, and through his witness, and pulpit calls, many have been brought to the Lord;

We are proud of our heritage: People make a heritage and Gordon

has been the mainstay and strong point of our church for the past twenty years and counting.

For these reasons, I am honored to dedicate this book to Rev. Dr. Gordon J. Matheson.
